My learning celebration!!!

  

Hi everyone, this is my last post for the year at Makaraka, and it is about my learning jorney.

Today we shared these stories with younger kids and they shared their stories with us. We made these so we could show everyone how well we have improved throughout the year it is my second to last day here at Makaraka it is so sad but I will be visiting the school so this is my learning journey for 2021!!

How fast am I at my times tables?

   

Hi everyone.

This is my math grid results for term 4 2021.

This time I am getting 100/100 so I am now focusing on how fast I am.

We do this grid on Mondays and Wednesdays every week.

Every time I add In a new time and score It will update right then,

our goal is to beat our teachers time and she normally gets around 3:00.

Remember I am updating this so always be looking!

This is my last term at Makaraka school I am off to be a year 7 that is CRAZY!

But anyway this is my Term 4 2021 goals of the week and if you watch my first video it talks about covid we can fight this virus and NO MORE LOCKDOWNS for NZ!

Maori Moment

 

 Hi everyone, this is Mine and Molly's animation.

This week is the Maori language week we made this animation because we were celebrating the Maori language and we were asking each other how are you in Maori. I found this really fun and my favourite part was making the character in storyboard that comic maker, I tried to make it look like me and I really hope that you think it is good, bye.

Speech Planning Part 1

This is the start of my speech planning.

We had to write down some places that we knew people said speeches.

The first one that came to my head was a funeral I'm not sure why but it did!

And down the bottom, I had to right what makes a good speech and that is what I thought.

I can't wait to plan more of my speech!

My string art (Do you like it)

 

Hi everyone, 

This is my string art that I did I made a A for Anna a M for my pony Marley and a I for my pony Impy.

I used a hammer nails pencil string and some wood.

I first drew the thing that I wanted and then I banged the nails in then I just rapped the string around it and then you have a art piece. 

I banged my thumb a few times and it hurt but I kept going and I am really happy with what I did.

It was a task for art in lockdown.

Lockdown Maths Lesson

 

Hi everyone , This is my maths for lockdown I will be adding to it every day because we have daliy maths.

Hi, everyone my class is in the middle of reading a story called trash it has been very good so far and This is one of the tasks I had to do. I had to pretend I was about to walk up this pathway and write 3 paragraph's and how you would feel walking up here I made it interesting and used a news reporter and a policeman as some characters and also just me and how I would feel. Hope you like it.

Museum trip ( Hue/Goud Addition)

Hello, I am Anna , today we went to the museum, My class went and it was focusing on the hue/goruds. We went into a class and the lady showed as some instruments made out of wood and flax and the lady played some of them. My favorite one was the shell it sounded like and trumpet. Next the lady played some sound of the instruments on youtube and we had to guess what instrument it was and Cass and I got all of them right. Then we got to play with one instrument called Porotiti it is some wood on a string and it makes a woosh sound. It was really hard to get it to work. Then we went inside and we made a purerehua I is something that when we swing it around it calls the birds. We were allowed to use stencils and I used triangles and a fantail. We sang a song and then we went for a walk around the museum for half an hour I looked at everything! I rate it a 91/2 /10.

Hi everyone,

This is my veggie car question mark.

I read a story about a car that did not need gas and it was just run on biofuel ( veggie oil ).

First we answered pre reading questions, and then we read half of the story and the answered during questions. Next we read the rest of the story and answered the end questions. 

Now I have answered the question mark and I am finished.

Hi everyone, this is my art. The bottom photo is my picture made out of veggies we were trying to copy one of Giuseppe arcimboldo's paintings but it didn't really work. Then we tried to copy jacks face so that is what it is right now. Next we sketched it and then made the art.The top photo is my art and it looks like a chicken because I had it upside down and I liked it better than my other one so I left it like that and made a couple of touches to it and now it looks amazing!

I predict that salt  & vinegar would win and I was right I chose salt & vinegar as well, it is the best!

Our perfect pancakes (Not really!)

Hi,

This post is about how you would cook food in the bush.

On wednesday the 5th of May made Hobo stoves.

First the whole school went into the hall and we got into our house colors my color is yellow.

Next we watched a video it was call wild kai legends we watched season 2 episode 8 it was cool. 

Then we got into groups of 3 and we followed steps to make our hobo stoves.

Now we headed outside with our stoves and we lit them on fire.

My groups was to hot so we couldn't use it so I ended up doing the butter for a little bit and then someone was free and my group got to make the pancakes the were yum!

Cedenco (Behind the scenes)

 

Hi,

This blog is all about me and my classes time at cedenco.

We went to cedenco foods we went Behind the scenes and saw all of the machines and we got to taste some of the food that they make. They make the shape crackers that we got to try and  lots of tomato things. We got to try some pasts, powders and purays my favorite was the apple puray and the tomato sprickel. Also we got the see some people sorting corn into the my food bags. By that stage we did not need morning tea!! 

Trip to the Museum

 Hi, my class went to the museum on Tuesday. When we got there we had something to eat and then we went inside the museum and talked about what it was liked in the old days.  Then we went on a hunt to find things around the museum. lastly we went back to the learning room and she showed us how to sew a little kiti and we took them back to school to finish them.
